If you are lucky enough to be in good health with healthy feet - but for whatever reason, you are unable to cut your toe nails - then this appointment is for you.

This involves all the nails being trimmed, filed and cleaned and thicker nails reduced. Any fungal nails will be attended to and treated.

Ingrown nails will be addressed. This sometimes requires dressing and follow up appointments. All this will be discussed at the time of your treatment.

Should you be suffering from infection, anti-biotics may be prescribed. All corns and hard skin removed and feet finished with buffing to remove any dead and/or dry skin.

Foot cream is then massaged into the skin to leave your feet feeling rejuvenated.

Biomechanical assessment involves the entire leg joints, range of movement and how it functions through gait.

Measurements will be taken at each joint through the leg and foot to establish any misalignments, restrictions and muscular strength/weakness and flexibility.

Gait analysis is the observation of the body in motion - in this case walking - this establishes any imbalances, knee alignment, hip alignment and changes of the feet through gait.

Any issues will be dealt with through prescriptive insoles, foot wear advice, specific exercises and in some cases, mobilisation therapy.

Auricular Acupuncture is a therapy consisting of the application of 5 small fine sterile stainless steel needles under the surface of the skin on specific areas on the outer part of the ear. The outer ear has a prolific nerve supply that can directly influence the body’s response to stress, releasing natural ‘feel good’ chemicals in the body.

The therapy can reduce the frequency and intensity of hot flushes, aid relaxation, reduce anxiety, tension and insomnia. Once the needles have been inserted you will be advised to sit quietly for around 45 mins whilst undertaking some relaxation and visualisation techniques.

Avoid having a large meal an hour within your appointment but try to have a small snack and water is beforehand. Avoid drinking caffeine before your session

ACUPUNCTURE - MEDICAL (£35 per hour)

Medical Acupuncture (or dry needling) is for the treatment of musculoskeletal pain. It involves inserting fine sterile stainless steel needles into the muscles of the body for a therapeutic effect.

It is an adaptation of the Chinese method using modern up to date knowledge of anatomy and physiology. The treatment works by creating an inflammatory response thus stimulating the brain and nervous system to produce pain relieving chemicals (endorphins) which help to promote healing.

When the needles are applied you will be advised to lie/sit quietly for 30 mins approx so that the needles have time to take effect. Afterwards the needles are removed and normal practice is resumed.

Avoid having a large meal an hour within your appointment but try to have a small snack and water is beforehand. Avoid drinking caffeine before your session

medical accupuncture

ACUPUNCTURE - ELECTRO (£35 per hour)

Electroacupuncture was developed in China in the 1950s specifically for use in surgical operations. When acupuncture was first used for analgesia, the anaesthetists had to continue to rotate the needles manually throughout the operation, so they developed electroacupuncture apparatus to relieve themselves of this chore.

Electroacupuncture increases the strength of stimulation by sending a low, regular electric current throughout the whole treatment session. Apart from that, it is quite similar to traditional acupuncture in that the same points are stimulated during treatment. It is particularly recommended for clients with chronic nociceptive pain who have failed to respond to 1-2 sessions with manual needling.

How it works: While switched off, the apparatus is first connected to the needles using small clips, then the apparatus is switched on and the intensity of the electric current is slowly increased until the client is aware of it. Then, the intensity is increased even further until either it causes muscle twitch or it becomes as much as the client can tolerate comfortably. Some clients may be willing and able to adjust the intensity for themselves during the treatment.

Electroacupuncture is not recommended for clients with a pacemaker. However, it is safe for them to undergo manual acupuncture treatments.

*Session duration includes time for a pre & post session consulation - actual treatment time usually lasts between 40-50 minutes.

This simple procedure is revolutionising physical rehabilitation globally, often achieving complete and lasting results in one treatment in many people where all other forms of intervention had proven unsuccessful.

Kinetic Chain Release is a simple yet extremely effective system of medically recognised and approved, gentle joint mobilisations and stretches, developed by Scottish Physiotherapist Hugh Gilbert, that brings the physical body back into balance quickly and easily, frequently providing a high degree of relief and even instant resolution in many cases from the pain and discomfort caused by conditions such as:

REFLEXOLOGY (£35 per hour)

Reflexology is a non-intrusive complementary health therapy, based on the theory that different points on the feet, lower leg, hands, face or ears correspond with different areas of the body.

Reflexologists work holistically with their clients. Reflexology is a therapy which can be received by anyone at any age. The therapist will use their hands to apply pressure to the feet, lower leg, hands, ears or face, depending on the type of reflexology chosen. You may feel areas of transient discomfort during the treatment, but generally the experience should be relaxing.

Stress | Muscle Pain /  Back Pain | Tension headaches | Sinusitis | Insomnia | Post-operative pain |

Fibromyalgia | Arthritis | Sports Injuries | Hormone Imbalances | Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) | Cancer and Chemotherapy-induced nausea | Digestive disorders
